Art commissions and original fine art sales are warmly welcomed. Bring vibrant energy, rich textures, and bold storytelling into your personal collection, home, or commercial space.
The Creative Journey
Brisbane Artist Katie McErlean commenced her formal studies at the prestigious Queensland College of Art, studying Fine Art. From there, Katie carved out a long, rewarding, and highly versatile creative career working as an Illustrator and Designer for major Australian newspapers, including the Brisbane Courier Mail, Sydney Morning Herald, and The Australian.
A move back to Queensland drew Katie into the fast-paced world of television. Throughout the 90s, she worked with Channel 9 and Channel 7, creating dynamic news graphics and production designs for beloved children's television programs.
"I was always hearing the call back to visual art—things never felt completely right without me fully encompassing my own raw studio practice."
Full Circle & Studio HQ
Katie eventually came full circle back to her first love: fine visual arts. She has stayed fiercely true to that core passion ever since. Today, Katie exhibits her artworks across numerous group and solo exhibitions, selling pieces to proud collectors both nationally and internationally. She also frequently uses her art as a force for good, regularly donating work and collaborating with three of her favorite local charities.
Now a mother to three lively boys, when Katie isn't covered in paint or dreaming up a new series, she is busy sharing her love of art with the next generation. She teaches fine art and illustration to Brisbane kids and adults alike from her beautiful home studio in Annerley, fondly named STUDIO HQ.
"Kids are creating the future for us right now. The most important thing in this world is to be supported and encouraged in your passions! I was lucky enough to have this support, and I'm honored to pass this gift onto young creatives today."
